“I feel so incredibly lucky to have stumbled across Temperley Acupuncture when desperately seeking help in my ‘Trying to Conceive’ journey. I had been diagnosed with PCOS when I was 15 and was always told that it would be a real challenge in getting pregnant. Heavy, painful periods and irregular cycles had been a constant in my teens and 20s. The time had come for me and my partner to try and conceive, and we found it overwhelming and challenging. Someone recommend acupuncture to me, and I decided to do some research into it and came across Libby. Coupled with Chinese herbs, an easy yet effective tweak to my diet to work with my insulin resistance and understanding how to track my cycle, I found acupuncture was a key turning point in our efforts. Libby made it clear, easy to understand and reassured me that if I committed, we would be successful. I felt hope for the first time in months. Amazingly, after being told consistently how hard it was going to be, it took 3 months of weekly meetings with Libby before I saw that beautiful blue line and the unmistakable ‘pregnant’; I was thrilled!
I am quite an anxious person, so Libby guided me through my pregnancy and acupuncture helped reduce my symptoms (nausea, congestion and swelling to name a few) and give me time for me. We battled together through a prolapsed disc in my lower back and a fall and in August I gave birth to a baby girl.
I really do put a huge emphasis on the importance of acupuncture in my successful pregnancy and birth. I feel so lucky to have met Libby and worked together in bringing my daughter into my arms.
